Best Napping Lady Around

Last week ended with a trip to the ER, a pneumonia diagnosis, & antibiotics ordered for us to pick up on our way home.
After a few hours of Sunny's heart rate being in the 170s, we decided it best to have her checked out. Normally, her heart rate is around 100s-120s when awake and content, and 150s-160s when mad. Other than occasionally arching her back, that morning she appeared rather content. I held for for a little while and she fell asleep, but her heart rate still was in the 160s - and she usually sits in the 90s whilst sleeping.
We had gotten to the ER around 7:00am Friday morning, and still hadn't had anything to eat before we were discharged around 2:30. Our caffeine-less selves picked up the antibiotics, as well as some spicy chicken sandwiches from Chick-fil-a on the way home.
The team at Hershey had done EKG, x-ray, blood work, respiratory panel, urine, and because we were suspicious of something brewing in her GI, a stool sample.
They came back and said her x-ray looked good, and were just waiting for some more results to come back. Then about an hour later, came back to say she had pneumonia. It struck us as odd, seeing as how besides her elevated heart rate, the majority of her symptoms were weird stools and seemingly abdominal discomfort. But we were discharged with antibiotics prescribed, and went into the weekend with a plan.

Over the weekend, Sunny wasn't worse, but she didn't seem to be getting better. Monday morning was rather pukey, but was followed by naps and so we felt optimistic.
But Tuesday, Sunny's night nurse greeted us in the morning with sour news - Sunny had a rough night with not much sleep and an elevated heart rate. The morning followed suite, and her heart rate became increasingly elevated despite her being rather chill and not actively upset.

It was a rather chaotic day, but in between phone calls, Chris was scouring the portal from Sunny's ER visit and discovered they had results that would requite a change in the antibiotic. Nobody had called us, so it wasn't until we brought this to the attention of Sunny's PCP's nurse who called to discuss it with the team at Hershey.
We had also called Sunny's cardiologist to ask what her thoughts were, and they promptly gave us a spot at the end of their day for an echo. Sunny's pulmonologist also happened to be in the office that day, and snuck in the catch up and have a listen. They both said everything looked and sounded good, and that neither of them agreed with the pneumonia diagnosis, but hoped the changed in antibiotics would help whatever was going on.
So far, it has helped immensely! Following two days worth of doses, Sunny's heart rate went back down. I personally think it's making her much more comfortable, as she's been sleeping for the past two days. Last weekend, while she slept some, she didn't sleep as much as her normal self. I think she was too uncomfortable to get her proper rest, and so now she's playing catch up this weekend.
We're SO glad she's feeling better, and that she DOESN'T have pneumonia.

She also had a visit this week to get her ultrasound & blood work done for her upcoming follow-up visits with all her specialists. It was quick, and she was very patient with us.

Prayer requests:
- health for the remainder of the winter
- night nursing for the weekends, as they're more exhausting than restful.

Thank you! We're immensely grateful for your cares & prayers.

Love,
Chris, Alyssa & Sunny
