Easter Week

Hi friends! We had a busy Friday, but a pretty low-key week!

We started the week off with our Early Intervention 6 Month Review - which just seems absolutely crazy that we've been home with Sunny for SIX months. Lately, (don't tell Sunny, but) it's been fairly smooth riding. She's still keeping us on our toes, but we're grateful for a relatively smooth start to the year.

Early Intervention came by to get an update on Sunny's health & progress, reevaluate goals, offer any additional support & once again go over other services.
We all - Sunny's Physical Therapist, the Early Intervention case manager, Sunny's nurse & myself - agreed that her neck strength is definitely improving. We also discussed how we think she can do more than what she chooses to do on our therapy session days, but it just depends on her mood:)
When she wants to, she's being nosey and looking all over the room. But if we interrupt a nap, or if she simply does not care to do her "workout" that day, she's as floppy as a well-loved stuffed animal.
We refreshed her goal to be more focused on supporting her strength, and gearing her exercises more towards interactions with play. We also talked about potentially adding an Occupational Therapist to really help with the play part of the goal, and the case manager said we could add one to the mix at any time.

Since the weather has been getting increasingly better, we've been trying to get out of the house and take more walks. Sunny has been really enjoying them (when we have her fan properly charged), and it always feels good to get her packed up and out of the house for a non-doctors appointment outing!

A few weeks ago, Sunny had bloodwork & an ultrasound done in preparation for her Urology & Nephrology follow-ups. Her Urologist was pleased that she hadn't had any more UTIs since December -  and said if that's still the case at her follow-up in 6 months, we'd talk about discontinuing her prophylactic antibiotic! Her Nephrologist said that overall, Sunny's kidneys looked stable. When she was born, she had some cysts in her left kidney that they've been keeping an eye on, and she reported that they were not growing! One of her kidney function numbers from her bloodwork came back a tad lower than they'd prefer, so she's getting blood redrawn in June to make sure it's nothing too concerning.

This week, I went through her closet again and got rid of outfits that are too small. Again....she just keeps growing!!

Prayer requests:
- Continued health from UTIs
- Improving kidney function
- Nursing for weekend night shifts

We're grateful for you, and hoping you have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Love,
Chris, Alyssa & Sunny
